When the founders of Little Elves Preschool in Virginia named their new school, they never dreamed that one day the students would gather in a ring, playing wild, unearthly music that would make the teacher dance until she dropped dead from exhaustion. More's the pity.

I probably shouldn't watch the morning news. Little things like seeing that icy conditions have made Little Elves Preschool open one hour late tend to make me think too much.

I used to work in a district that was known, actually known for never getting snow days. One time the actor that used to do exercise videos- "Sweatin' to the Oldies" (I forget his name) was visiting some Cleveland radio station and they let him read the school closings (there were over a hundred) at some point he said: "Oh this is rediculous! Everybody but Shaker is closed today for snow, alright??" Even he knew! Today that high school was closed for "no electricity". I can remember having our pipes broken so that every water fountain and faucet ran brown and we didn't get a day for that. Huh. Shaker is getting soft.

Heh. I've always lived in wimpy school districts, but I can imagine the "fun" of working in a district like that one. Hey, at least you all had a longer summer vacation than the rest!

Ah but they build in 4 days for 'calamities'. If you don't use them; oh well.
