Bleah

Had stuff to write about, but that will have to wait. Briefly: Sunday was fun (after the morning, that is, when I did not make it to church but at least managed to pick up a prescription before the pharmacist decided it was time to put it back on the shelf), nice time spent with people at Eastern Market and then wandering around that neighborhood in a search for hot beverages. Walking around while spending time with people was good and I have no regrets. However, I am glad that I listened to that little voice in my head telling me to pick up some orange juice from the store on my way home, because my cold has gotten noticeably worse since then.

Plans for tomorrow: Go to doctor's office and see if anyone there is available and willing to listen to me breathe. I very much Do Not Want bronchitis for Christmas. For that matter, I would very much like to stop getting a new cold every time I think I've recovered from the last one.

Unrelated to any of the preceding: My favorite holiday track this year seems to be the Josh Groban & Brian McKnight version of "Angels We Have Heard on High." I'd also be willing to listen to Annie Lennox's version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" another time or two.

I heard Annie Lennox performing God rest you Merry gentlemen on the Andrew Marr show and it was great, but I heard the recorded version this morning and I didn't like it at all. They seem to have processed her voice!!

Can't think why. It's not like she can't sing...

The vocal processing was probably an attempt to make her sound more otherworldly, though the most likely result of this attempt is that music fans three decades from now will hear the track and immediately be able to guess which year it was recorded.

It's very much of its time:-(

If they ever release an acoustic set, it'll be brilliant. It was brilliant on the Andrew Marr show...
