Argh.
(Apologies for any incoherence. I'm speaking from a bit of frustration here.)
So, Caseworker Number 1 told me that since my file was closed (me not having turned in all the paperwork by her deadline because (A) my doctor hadn't finished her part of the paperwork in time, and (B) that letter I didn't get last year (which, for those of you who were reading then, caused massive delays in getting benefits in the first place) still hasn't been gotten this year), I should call Caseworker Number 2, to whom CN1 would be giving my files. So I called CN2 to ask her what I need to do in order to get the benefits back, and she tells me she has no idea what I'm talking about and transfers me back to CN1, who doesn't appear to remember the conversation we had earlier at all and can only say that she'll process my file as is and see what happens.
Didn't I go through this last year? Why yes, I did. Do I really have to go through it again? Can't we skip over the bureaucrapic foulups and get straight to me having medical benefits (food & cash would be nice too) again so I can deal with my other big life problems?
Now that my head hurts from being beaten against a wall, I think I'll go clear it by taking a long walk in the cold to the pharmacy which should still be able to fill my latest prescription unless there's been some other foulup I don't know about.
On the plus side, I made a phone call today! Two, actually. And though I didn't mention it before, I made three phone calls on Wednesday (one of which ran the risk of having me dragged from the Nile, though I escaped that fate by talking to an answering machine instead of a real person and so am still trying to swim a little bit farther). Go me!

After last year, I can believe it pretty easily. I just hope that I can get benefits back before next May, y'know?
Thanks for the chocolate & the huggles. Always appreciated. :-)
