Egypt's Ministry of Tourism Welcomes You
Isn't the Nile lovely this time of year?
It appears that many people have decided this is an excellent time to visit the great river, wading in and hoping it will wash all our troubles away. This is much better than staying home and dealing with the burdensome business of our lives, isn't it? Oh yes, watch out for the current there...
Some people are very obviously going deep in the Nile, which fact is painfully clear to nearly everyone who talks to them (or reads their LiveJournal) but they remain completely YES, THE RIVER IS LOVELY THIS TIME OF YEAR! Others are maybe a little better at swimming, with issues hidden from the world at large and yet still nagging at the back of our HEY GANG, LET'S INVITE CLEOPATRA FOR TEA!
Well, it's not as if we aren't dealing with things, really. We're dealing with Things, Big Things, and we can easily demonstrate to all who care just how much we're doing right in our lives, how much we're learning everything about our Issues, seeking help from the right places, and laboring hard to make things better. With all that we have on our plates, with all the myriad Things we're Really Dealing With, Honest, we simply do not have the time or energy left over to CLEO, DARLING! HOW GOOD OF YOU TO COME!
Who knows? Maybe if we stay here long enough, we'll find a baby hidden in the bulrushes.

Ahem. What I mean is that what's got me here in the Nile is something I can't think of a way for anyone to help me deal with, unless maybe it's a professional counselor, and even then I've got work to do on my own. Which, of course, I don't want to do.
Thanks for the offer, Un. If I think of some way you might be able to help, I'll let you know!

(Don't mind me, I've put too much of my energy into swimming in de Nile recently. I need to swim back to shore before the river floods again.)

um.
You'll figure out what I'm trying to say. I think it's something along the lines of, the great thing about the Nile being a river is it flows. Somewhere. And then you can swim about in an ocean of selfwork like I'm doing now, but since this particular river moves very slowly, you don't have to be thinking about oceans yet.
Hey, I think I just saw a coelacanth.

The Nile is one of my favorite places to go, but really, one can't stay there long.
In the meantime, say hi to Cleopatra for me. We're old friends.
