(Longtime Buffy fans will get it)

Downstairs there's a Halloween party with lots of lights and decorations and people in pretty costumes. I'm not really up to socializing much tonight, but I did go down to chat for a little bit. When one of the partiers showed off his costume consisting of a name tag with the word "GOD" on it, I tried to tell him he was really Oz. He didn't seem to get it.

Not getting the Oz reference makes them unworthy of the costume. Or, at the very least, unworthy of the wee Wiccan Joan of Arc.

If it makes you feel better, he seemed to be friendlier with the guy wearing horns and a "SATAN" nametag. (Joan was elsewhere, and the Virgin Mary was busy mixing drinks.)

Not pulling your leg, though I'm not sure if anyone here was Joan of Arc or not. However, we did have people claiming to be God, Satan, Mary, and Jesus--and the Mary and Jesus costumes were actually pretty good, though the crown of thorns looked deeply uncomfortable.

Yay Jesus. I myself stayed up until Midnight on Friday making a Jesus costume for a friend to wear tonight. Man, I'm going to blackmail him with those pictures...
