Today I considered going out for a walk, thinking of all the groceries I'd like to buy, the glasses I need to attempt to order, the library books constantly calling my name. So I stood at the window, thinking, feeling how tired I was, noticing that there was a leftover bit of migraine in my head, looking out at the unseasonably cool and breezy world, and my primary thought was: No.

Days like today are why I stock up on canned foods. I don't like eating canned foods if fresh are available, but I'd rather have some over-salted soup than nothing at all. (I do have fruits and vegetables left here, but collard greens, kiwi fruit, and an apple do not make a meal.)

Also on the plus side: We no longer have to worry about running out of heating oil; which is good because, while I do like wintry weather, I also like to be able to feel my fingers and toes. Hooray for heat!

I spent entirely too much of the day reading news stories and blog posts. People are weird.

Stay indoors... You know it's the sensible thing to do. I wish I could:-(

Today's not been as bad as yesterday here and I really could have gone shopping for a bit. Of course, it's nearly sunset and I still haven't left the house, so maybe I'll wait till tomorrow.

"unseasonably cool and breezy "
ditto

I *want* to walk down to the produce store but the weather's gotten into me and migraines 3 days in a row are draining me--I'd been doing such a good job of avoiding them too :(

I wish I could avoid migraines! Oh well, at least I have tea to help me get through the days.

I get them from multiple triggers

environmental, food induced, strain, etc.
usually I can avoid the food induced by well, just not eating things I used to love; like my Mom and chocolate, she determined at age 28 chocolate = migraine for her and has never had any since. Thankfully I dodged that bullet, I have to be careful to avoid MSG in all its disguises, sneaky aged cheese, etc.

For the most part, I agree!

1) If you should find yourself bereft of that handy "heat" thing, do let Mika and I know; we'd be glad to put you up for a while, and would be MOST displeased if you were found to have frozen.

2) I'm sure I could be persuaded to give you some of the stuff we have canned, if you'd like.

Believe me, if we run out of heating oil and seem unlikely to get more soon, you will be hearing from me! Though getting more oil isn't usually a problem unless there's lots of snow on the ground--as in last season's Snowpocalypse II, when we did have some problems here.

Your canned food is always appreciated. :-)
