hummingwolf: (My world is askew!)
The more sleep-deprived I am, the more irrational I am; and the more irrational I am, the more I think of things to be worried about, which really does not help with that sleep-deprivation thing. (And why do I keep mistyping "sleep" as "slee"? Just a way of symbolizing that I'm not going quite far enough?)

Cut for worries about vermin-type things )

Seriously, Brain? This is what you've got for me tonight? You're making me worry about two things I have dealt with before without any great lasting harm? That's pathetic. Please, just stop. You're only embarrassing yourself.

In other insomnia-related news, I do think I can understand why I've been waking up in the middle of the night, at least if this evening was any indication. See, apparently there is something about the bedroom window by my bed that inspires large insects (probably cicadas from the sound of things) to fly at the window screen, making a light "thud" sound possibly followed by an irritated buzz and the flap of wings. The noise isn't too startling when I'm awake; but since that window is the one situated right by my head, I can easily believe that's the reason why I was recently awakened by a dream in which some wild animal went THUD against my window.

Right, I need sleep. Though I did manage to get seven hours last night, I'm still pretty badly sleep-depped for no good reason.

Seriously, Brain, let us sleep.
