For the record
Sunday, January 30th, 2011 06:02 pmI like snowstorms, but I am not all that fond of slushstorms.
I like trees. I like fire. I like having the modern convenience of electricity in my home. However, I do not like it when power lines try to set fire to trees. It may be very pretty, but it is not terribly good for the tree.
Fortunately, the slushstorm made things wet enough that no part of the tree kept burning long enough to become a real danger. Still, there were bright sparks in the tree as late as last evening and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the tree were sparking now. Again: very pretty, but still not good.

For some reason, on the day of last week's slushfall, when I was too tired to do much other than lie in bed, I was most in the mood for listening to late '90s music by Michael W. Smith. Now, there are many excellent reasons to make fun of the products of the Christian Contemporary Music industry, but I have to say that MWS has written some darn good pop songs over the years. Sample: "Missing Person" on YouTube, a fan-made video using clips from the show Avatar the Last Airbender. (As a dial-up user I can't see much of the video, but I do love that song.)
~~~~~
I haven't been online much in the last few days, partly because it was time for my regularly scheduled migraine and partly because the sparkly tree made me nervous about our household power situation. So, though I'll try to catch up sometime soon, it might take me a while. I hope you're all doing tolerably well out there!
