Happy Holidays!

December 24: I did think seriously about going to a Christmas Eve service, but instead I stayed home resting and listening to Christmas music. Probably the best choice, though I always love a candlelight service followed by fellowship and far too many cookies and am sorry I missed that once again.

December 25: Christmas with good folks and fluffy cats! People even came to my home to pick me up!!! No children were around to be tied up with bungee cords this year, but several supposed adults were having fun anyway. Ate far too much food, exactly as planned. I learned that some people are actually surprised when they hear me say "Mew" or "Rarrr!" though the cats generally seem unfazed. Many, many thanks to everyone there for making the holiday an excellent day.

December 26: Congested, sniffly, and very, very tired. Most of the time my reaction to snow is "Whee! Hooray for snow!" but on Sunday as I was walking, my reaction was more "Wah! Cold stuff keeps hitting my face!" which I took as a sign that I should cut the walk short and go back to bed. I never did get online yesterday, mostly because my bed was so much more comfy than any other part of the house.

December 27: When I woke up this morning, it was a great relief to see that there wasn't enough snow to shovel. So I've spent the entire day indoors and most of it in bed, though a substantial chunk of the afternoon involved me eating large quantities of garlic and hot sauce in an attempt to decongest myself. (Note: a few drops of [personal profile] hasufin's Curious Yellow sauce goes well with a serving of cooked kale. A very few drops.) Now I am looking out the window at the fading blues and fuchsias of evening twilight and feeling incredibly grateful for my space heater.

December 28: Perhaps I shall venture out into the world once again? Stay tuned!

Sierpinski cookies.

Oh, I suppose I should have confessed in my last post that I had great fun torturing [livejournal.com profile] stardansr with my renditions of Christmas carols on the 25th. Not only was I singing a bit off-key, but I replaced all the lyrics with "NOM." "Sleigh Ride" with noms may be my new favorite seasonal song to sing, and I should probably apologize in advance to anyone who may ever hear me sing it.
