Still not a real update
Thursday, May 20th, 2010 09:54 pmI'm still not up to catching up with everybody yet, and am not stringing together enough coherent sentences for a real update of my own, so this here is a fairly minor update, yet somehow important enough to be stated clearly:
Fresh, locally grown Early Glow strawberries are WONDERFUL right now. WONDERFUL, I tell you!
In other news, I now have a bunch of organic broccoli rabe (rapini) from today's farmers market. Also, after I'd stared longingly at flowers for long enough and the market was about to close, the flower grower asked, "What do you want? I'll give you a deal!" So there are now three Dutch irises in a vase on the dining room table, two bright yellow and one dark purple.
Additionally, I walked about a zillion miles today. Well, it was really more like five, but that's close enough, right? Now I have lost my ability to follow my own train of thought, so I guess it's time to go to the kitchen and figure out if broccoli rabe goes well with chicken gizzards (or something like that).
