My twisted ankle recovered enough for me to want to walk a little yesterday, so I went to the grocery store in the evening when I thought the rains had stopped for the day. I came out of the store with bags in my arms and discovered that I'd been wrong about the rain stopping. Oh well, at least there were warm, dry clothes waiting for me at home.
It turned out to be a good thing that I mentioned my minor new symptom at the doctor's office on Monday, because what was a mere nuisance then was a noticeably painful infection by yesterday when the doctor called to tell me my test results and to ask which pharmacy she should send the prescription for antibiotics to. ( Possibly Too Much Information ) So, today I got to go for a walk in the sunshine to pick up a supply of amoxicillin. It's somewhat amusing to compare the cash value of this to the value of the one medication I have to take every day--the antibiotic is 1/126 the price of the antiepileptic. Okay, this is comparing a 10-day supply to a 30-day supply, but it's still pretty impressive.
After this, I went to a Borders bookstore thinking about using up a coupon. I noticed that the books that most demanded my attention today were either in the "Physics" section or in "Medieval and Renaissance Studies" and I wondered what this might say about me. Then I remembered and realized it says that I am my father's daughter. Didn't buy anything, though, because I'm hoping to find the more interesting books for lower prices at a used bookstore sometime. That probably means I am also my mother's daughter.
