After posting yesterday, I continued to feel ill for a while but continued not throwing up. Took a nap for an hour and felt a bit better afterwards, so I went for a short walk to buy a sandwich (easier than walking to the grocery store, which would have been a bad idea). Rested some more, then went walking again for a little bit in the evening since the weather was so remarkably decent for an August day. On the way up the street, was mrrowed at by a cat who was sitting at the stop of a stairway and looking about as much like a mountain lion as a little housecat ever could. The two of us meowed at each other a few times, and then a grey Persian with a pink collar showed up. The longhair came down to sniff at me and then ran back to the mini-cougar. I stood on the sidewalk a while admiring both cats, remaining as nonthreatening as I could be. The Persian eventually came back down again, asked to be petted, and twined itself friendlily around my legs. The other cat stayed up on the higher ground, meowing a few times, generally looking as if it would have snarled if it had had the size to make the threat effective. I enjoyed spending time talking with them both.
Today I've been dizzy and tired, but nausea hasn't been the problem that it was yesterday. I even ate three full meals! Also walked a couple of miles, though not all at once. The sight of a bright little goldfinch cheered me up on the way to the store. Bought fun things at the supermarket like garlic hummus and pluots, though they tried to overcharge me for the pluots--or rather, the scale decided to claim that I was buying almost three times as many as I actually was. Got that straightened out, then came home and enjoyed crackers with cheese & hummus with a pluot for dessert. Maybe it's time for another pluot?
As you all might have noticed from my recent video links, I've been in the mood for the music of Icehouse lately. As a dial-up user, I generally don't have the patience to wait for videos to download, but I did watch another old one today: "Baby, You're So Strange." That song never fails to improve my mood. It looks like the guys in the band had fun with it too!
BOP BOP BOP BOP.
