Dear Diary: It's hard to keep a diary when migraines make you want to curl up into a ball and die and not stare at a computer screen.
I've only had a migraine since yesterday afternoon, after my fasting blood test was followed by a walk in the sunshine (lovely, unseasonably cool temperatures yesterday) and then munching on a vegan sandwich--in the sunshine--but it feels like it's lasted forbloodyever. Stupid sunshine. A serving or two of fruit juice probably would have been a good idea at that point, might have done more to ease the headache than the sandwich did, no matter how healthful that sandwich was supposed to be.
Okay, I seem to be typing even though it's hard to be coherent. Y'all can deal with incoherence, right? Sure you can. Anyway, almost two weeks ago, Saturday before last, we had the beginnings of several days of unseasonably hot & humid & Hellish weather, which I managed to escape the worst of thanks to the glorious hospitality of
hasufin and
stardansr. Spending time in the house they share with
chiisai_d, two cats, and two rats was very pleasant, although I'm sure they were glad to have more breathing room once I came back home. Actually, Ashes (a cat) might have missed me... or might not. She seemed to like kneading me, at any rate.
While I was there, I was sleep-deprived and trying to read a book about sleep. This doesn't work very well. You keep getting reminded of what you're missing when you do that sort of thing, and so you keep nodding off without finishing an entire... zzz.
Yeah, like that.
I think I had other stuff to say here, but don't know what it might have been. Oh! The last Mad Science Coffee was held in a shop right next to a used CD & record store, and since I had gone to the ATM & had enough money on me to splurge a bit, I had the profound pleasure of doing said splurging on music for the first time in years. So, CDs bought: Angelique Kidjo, Djin Djin; Sting, Sacred Love; Tears for Fears, Everybody Loves a Happy Ending; and Suzanne Vega, Beauty & Crime. Have now acquired six tasty CDs this year, making me a very happy camper.
Okay, I seem to have exhausted the brain's capacities for the evening. Will attempt to sleep for a good long while tonight in the hopes of making the last of this migraine go away.
