hummingwolf: Part of a julia fractal in colors of fire and smoke. (Fire-flavored fractal)
Whether or not you're from a country which has a Thanksgiving celebration this week, I hope you have much to be thankful for all the same.

Morph of the Day: You know, for an earless mutant with seven parents, he's not bad looking at all.

One More Reason To Be Grateful: You're not an earless mutant with seven parents.

Why I Didn't Go Anywhere for Thanksgiving: Evil, nasty migraine and concurrent side effects (and probably other brain stuff, but I still don't know how to figure out whether I've had a partial seizure or not). I have now determined that the only thing Imitrex does for me is make the nausea worse. The dizziness & such finally eased up a bit about an hour after my family finished eating (I called them about that time). Sounds like they were having a pleasant time, though.

Something for which I Can Be Grateful: My stomach finally decided to stop rebelling against me, which enabled me to eat some tasty chicken & squash stuffed with brown rice and cheesy stuff. And I managed to fix my own dinner without hurting myself, which was something of a feat considering I had barely enough brainpower at the time to figure out how to drain rice without all the rice flowing into the sink along with the water.

I am also grateful for the fact that, when the language centers of my brain were refusing to work at all well earlier today, the people who were trying to speak with me were understanding about my difficulties in holding a conversation. They didn't even laugh at me very much.

Tree of the Day: On the way home from the store (yes, somebody went grocery shopping on Thanksgiving), there was a tree which looked like it was vertically striped: one green stripe, one yellow, one orange, one red. The effect was visible only from one specific spot, but it was rather eye-catching from there.

Word of the Day: Wind.

Two-Word Phrase of the Day: Cold front.

Three-Word Phrase of the Day: Strong cold front.

Explanation: We've had unseasonably warm weather for the last couple of days, with highs in the mid-70s Fahrenheit (today's high was 25 Celsius, a record for this date). Mid-afternoon, the front came through, and the temperature dropped drastically (it's about 9° Celsius now). The wind's been busy today, trying to blow every single leaf off of every single tree around. An amazing day, if you like weather. I like weather.
