Update-type thing
Monday, November 27th, 2006 12:03 pmFriday after Thanksgiving,
tlttlotd and
lyssabard left earlyish to go shopping with
hasufin looking for Black Friday deals. Since they all arrived at the stores after sunrise, they apparently missed the first, pushiest wave of shoppers, though they still had some impressive crowds to deal with.
Sensible person that I am, I stayed back at their place, relaxing and reading various interesting bits of the Internet.
Around noon, the three came back to get me so we could all head out to eat tasty turkey-free Mexican food for lunch. After getting ourselves stuffed again, we went to a comic shop where Lyssa & the Doctor picked up their subscriptions and we had fun looking around. The thing attracting most of my attention was the Last Christmas, a tasteless miniseries with some lovely art of Santa fighting the undead. I rather liked it.
After the comic shop, Lyssa & I went back to their place while the guys got some more shopping in. When I confessed on the way back that I had lived all my life without ever seeing the movie Ghostbusters, it was decided that this appalling lack in my education must be remedied that very night. So in the evening,
hasufin came back with
stardansr,
rialian showed up, and we all sat round watching the film, munching brie & leftovers, chatting, and generally hanging out. Oh, and
tlttlotd and
hasufin did a bit of troubleshooting on
rialian's laptop.
Friday was marred by a mild migraine--mostly the aura with the headache being only barely noticeable. People were a bit surprised to learn that I hadn't taken any medications that day. I'm not sure if I'm always that uncoordinated when migrainey--there really aren't many places here at home where I need to walk in a straight line--but I was certainly banging into walls that day. My forehead still hurts.
The Bard & the Time Lord are truly gracious hosts. They're wonderful at making guests feel at home with them. Getting the chance to stay with them is one big thing for me to be thankful for this year! I left their place Saturday carrying plenty of tasty food with me, because no-one is allowed to leave Lyssa's place even remotely hungry.
Came home more worn out than I'd realized (with worsening headache), so spent about the next zillion hours sleeping. Sadly, this means I have multiple MegaPoMo posts to catch up on. I hope you all can forgive me.
