Long, physically painful and tiring day. Slept badly because the coughing was worse than ever, dragged myself out of bed on time (too early) to get to the bus stop to go to the doctor, and then the bus was late getting to their office so I was fifteen minutes later than I should have been. Unfortunately for me, their office was having a holiday mini-party not long after my arrival time, so in order to be seen again I had to return again in the afternoon. Went to McDonald's where I bought nothing because I had no cash (and also because if I did have cash, there are better places to buy lunch as cheaply), but I sat in a booth reading a while, hoping that all my coughing didn't get me kicked out for scaring the customers away.
So anyway, eventually spoke with & was examined by the doctor, who, based upon the fact that my coughs now are mostly phlegm-free, and also the fact that she didn't hear my lungs gurgling anymore, said she thought the infection was gone. She suspects that the bronchitis did enough damage to my lungs that it could take another week or two before they heal up and I stop coughing. In the meantime, I get to try a different cough suppressant--guaifenesin-free this time, on the theory that the otherwise lovely syrup I've been taking has thinned my remaining mucus enough for it to be irritating.
Anyway, like I said, it was a long, physically painful day. And you know what? I'm still in a good mood. I love everybody! Yes, you--and--you--and you too, I love you! Even you, there by the dip! Of course I'm trying not to find too much amusement in the absurdities of human nature right now because hey, laughter launches coughing fits. But I'm still ridiculously chipper.
