Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006 11:54 pmflash of memory--
Other people in the classroom were film students prepared to analyze the lighting, camera angles, soundtrack. We were there because we liked to watch free movies and the professor liked us enough to let us stay. The film that day was about a woman confronting her family about the abuse she'd lived through in their home. My friend had given me fragments of stories about what her own life was like--little glimpses, hints, never going into too much detail. Watching her face & body as she watched the screen that day told me more than words ever could have.
I hope she's somewhere safe now. I really hope she's safe.
