Not a morning person
Friday, August 4th, 2006 09:27 amI was a morning person once upon a time, I really was! The last few days have confirmed for me, though, that even when I've had a good night's sleep, my brain still doesn't want to deal much with reality in the mornings. Or maybe the problem is that it's been so long since I've been this comfortable overnight that my body wants to take full advantage of the chance to sleep and resents the fact that I keep getting up and trying to think. Either way, figuring out how to fold sheets this morning was a major challenge, and now the choice of what to grab when I raid
lyssabard and
tlttlotd's refrigerator seems altogether too much for my mental capacity. One thing I do know: Those strawberries will be MINE. (It's okay--Lyssa said I could eat 'em!)
Anyway, many many thanks to The Doctor and The Bard for putting up with me during this week's Excessive! Heat! Warning! Except for going out on Wednesday night (when pollution turned the moon a fascinating shade of orange), I've been lazing around here in the coolth and enjoying it very, very much. Later today it'll be time to go back to dealing with stuff at home, but this has been a lovely vacation.

In other news, Global Warming Beer:
On July 31 a team of canny entrepreneurs unveiled Greenland Beer, an ale brewed with water melted from Greenland's ice cap, at a public tasting in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Staffed by indigenous Greenlanders and located some 390 miles (625 kilometers) south of the Arctic Circle, Greenland Brewhouse is the world's first Inuit microbrewery.
And if reaction from tipplers at the tasting was any indication, the brewers may be on to something. Electrician Flemming Larsen described the ale to the Associated Press as "smooth, soft, but not bitter … different from most other beer."
