Update-type thing

hummingwolf: A bouncing penguin. (Bounce!)
It's been a few days since I typed anything in this particular window, hasn't it? Well then, here's what's been going on:

Wednesday: Very little. Was wiped out, too tired most of the day to do much of anything besides dream and daydream in a languorous sort of way. Did manage to drag myself out of the house and walk a couple miles late in the afternoon, but my body told me that that was a mistake.

Thursday: Exhausted. Was utterly useless all day.

Friday: Felt noticeably better, ran some errands, walked about 2.5 miles. And here's the exciting news: I ate a raw carrot! It was a small carrot as carrots go, but it was fresh and tasty. If you don't understand why that's exciting, you clearly have never had the kind of mouth pain I had all last month. Though my gums still aren't entirely happy with me, at least now we are on speaking terms (Metaphorically, that is. I haven't been hearing body parts speaking to me in English, in case you were wondering. The closest I've come to that is the stomach gurgling, which was not English but did sound vaguely Indo-European.).

Saturday: Bouncy most of the day, except for the part where a headache jumped me and wouldn't let me get up out of bed for an hour or so. Walking about two miles today was probably about a mile more than I should have. It was a sunny day, with perfectly reasonable temperatures for March in this area, meaning that you South Floridians reading this would have thought you were freezing to death while the Quebecers out there would have been wandering around in shorts. (I wore a winter coat and scarf because it was windy and I felt like being a wimp.)

Song of the day: Icehouse, "Surgery", which you can download by following the directions in the link. (The official Icehouse site won't spam you, I promise.) This song is my kind of disturbance in the Force. Of course it doesn't take much imagination to think of at least three different ways to associate the song with House, M.D.; and having thought of that, I have to say that although I am not a woman given to swooning, if there were a project combining the talents of Iva Davies and Hugh Laurie, I might be willing to make an exception.

happy
whatever makes you happy
... but be careful with that scalpel

Anyway, what have I done today? Some shopping, some escapist reading (a self-help book), a little chatting with housemates. Oh, I saw my first full episode of Farscape today. I can't say I know what was going on there, but the fact of Muppets in Space is enough to get me to watch next week's syndicated episode.
