Saturday, February 4th, 2006 10:43 pmSometimes I can forget I have a pain problem. This might sound strange to many people, considering I'm diagnosed with a chronic pain condition and, when asked why I'm not working, am likely to bring up the name of that condition in my response. But even though there's always some pain, there are times it's possible to ignore it. And if I can ignore the pain, then I can forget that the pain is a problem. Many other symptoms are of types which cannot be ignored (think: passing out, certain digestive problems, visual disturbances of the kind which have made some people wonder what kind of drugs I was on), but you can get used to thinking that pain can be worked through, that the pain really isn't blocking your way.
Tonight is not one of those times when I can ignore the pain.
I am not a happy camper.
