Happy Birthday to Me
Thursday, October 6th, 2005 10:25 pmI am happy to report that this has been a better birthday than last year's was. Hooray! Oh sure, I woke up at about 4:30 in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep because I'd get a burning pain in my hips and knees if I stayed in one position for very long. I've been in a good mood all day anyway. Walked a little (somewhere between 1.5 and 2 miles), bought myself some fruits, veggies, and whole grain breads (I heart my birthday pomegranate), read library books (conspiracy theories are fun), did some internet surfing (with very frequent breaks), even managed to get a good nap in (in spite of the burning pain's decision to spread up into my arms). Aside from grocery shopping and a single load of laundry, I did absolutely nothing useful today. Practical stuff can wait till tomorrow.
I don't really have anything else to say, so how 'bout some links?
First, the LJ Portal has been reopened to paidmembers as a beta version of a feature called "My LJ" and will be available to free users at some later point.
Good quiz for LiveJournalers: Guess that Friend. I got 100%! Go me!
Non-LJ link I picked up from
hummingbirders: Hidden hummingbird wonders. Check out the hummingbird eyelashes.
Somewhat gruesome: Praying mantis eating hummingbird. Fascinating, even if I do feel sorry for the bird.
Metro Bits, with some great pictures of the world's subway systems.
