Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005 12:15 pmOnce again, I was scheduled for a hearing and never actually saw the judge. Credit where credit is due: The guy I spoke with yesterday was more helpful than he seemed, making sure that I had food stamps back yesterday afternoon. (I saw their computer printout, so yes, I really do have the food stamps back!) Still don't have cash benefits, but he thought my best bet would be to bring in more documentation from my doctors. I decided to take his word for it. Probably would've gone through the hearing anyway, except my fuzzy vision & hearing in the lobby told me I was much closer to passing out than I thought I would be.
So basically, I'm back to where I was before the start of the month, except for having more information now. Food stamps + medical = much better than no benefits at all. Here's hoping that the power of Medicaid will help me get enough paperwork to convince this lot that I should be getting money again.
In the meantime, it still hurts to breathe, but now I can get medical treatment and fresh fruit! Woohoo!
