Before I forget

In other news: This is how it works: Your body tells you when something is wrong, and you listen to it if you are wise. Even if you manage consciously to ignore what your body tells you, there will still be that nagging intuition reminding you that all is not well. But when you have a chronic illness, one of these things where "But you don't look sick," and you are an independent type who always likes to be doing things anyway, you can tell yourself for a while that you're not sick after all. Even when your body displays vivid signs and bugs you with symptoms as subtle as a klaxon, you get upset with yourself for being "too lazy" to finish something you feel you should be doing.
So x-rays show clearly that my lungs are full of goop. Coughing shows that at least sometimes there is blood in this goop. Knowing full well that I need to get plenty of rest if my body is ever going to get rid of this infection, and knowing full well that the ER docs said to avoid inhaling anything which might irritate the lungs, I of course planned to spend the day either at the computer or (better choice) resting in bed. And then an incoming housemate got upset by the mold in the bathroom, so I ended up scrubbing walls & ceiling with bleach for way too long.
Sometimes the hummingwolf is a brilliant idiot.
But next time I'm awake enough for it, I want to play with some ideas that this has given me.
