Sunday, October 24th, 2004 08:11 pmThere's a block of ice stuck in my head. It freezes my thoughts, letting only a few trickle out through the cracks in my brain.
Hmmm... if I'm still feeling this way a couple of days from now, remind me to stop the new medication.
It doesn't help that the air on this floor is heavily laden with spray-paint fumes. There's a window open but it's cool outside and that won't thaw the block of ice in my brain.
On Friday I went to social services to get someone to fill out a form I could give to someone else so they could fill out a form for social services. This took several hours. As a matter of fact, while I waited and waited I saw most of a Home Alone movie and the entire Scooby Doo movie, including whichever previews there were on the tape. I didn't get to hear much of the movies I watched, which is probably just as well.
Because of the delay, was late to the therapy appointment, which is okay since the therapist was late the previous week. The conversation was vaguely amusing.
Yesterday was spent reading and typing up poetry, some by humans and some by MegaHAL. A post consisting of nonsense produced by a not-very-intelligent artificial intelligence may seem not to be a proper journal entry at all, not reflective of the journal-keeper's state of mind. If you believe this, you are quite mistaken. The nonsense reflected my state of mind quite accurately. (Well, except for the fact that my day involved more oogieness than the poetry did. Either I'm a little bit infected with something or my innards just got back from a trip to an alternate universe and they're only starting to readjust to this plane of existence. Or, again, it could be the new medication.) There may be more MegaPoetry later tonight, and there will certainly be more this week. You have been warned.
Now I think I shall take some jasmine tea to try to melt the block of ice in my head.
