Sunday, March 2nd, 2003 04:54 pmYesterday's big accomplishment: Changing my LiveJournal color scheme to shades of green and pink. Apologies to anyone reading my LJ directly who may disapprove--even I decide eventually that it's time for springtime colors.
Seems the weather agrees with me that it's time for spring. Sidewalks which two days ago were impassable because they were covered with great heaps of snow are today impassable because they're covered in running water. There's a miniature waterfall plashing its way down the hill between the field and the alley, singing merrily as it goes. It's possible that today's weather is only a tease and that winter isn't quite done with us yet, but I halfway suspect this is the start of true spring (as opposed to calendar spring, which has nothing to do with anything). Don't hold me to that, though: while I used to have a good sense of when the seasons truly changed, I haven't been quite so in tune with the weather the last few years. Part of it's surely because of stress making me less sensitive to the world around me, plus the fact that spring 2001 lasted until summer 2002 really threw me off.
Other than changing LJ colors and walking through the mud, what have I been doing this weekend? Not much. Still stressed, still tired. The house testosterone levels went way up as housemates changed and the toilet seats already seem perpetually stuck in the up position. Other than that, I've been reading Susan Quinn's biography of Marie Curie (interesting so far) and trying to either calmly and rationally figure out what to do about my life or go completely insane in some good and creative way.
[Edit: My friend Jenny pointed out the horrible spelling error (appearing more than once, so I can't even blame it on a typo). This has now been corrected. All grammatical weirdnesses remain my own.]
