Once again, I find myself at that stage of sleep-deprivation where I'm seeing into alternate dimensions.

It's the timing that bothers me. I don't mind looking into other worlds at bedtime; I rather enjoy a bit of hypnogogic fun before falling into my nightly coma. My problem is that when I'm walking on the shoulder of a busy roadway, I just want to see the world where I'm attempting to place one foot in front of the other without becoming roadkill, and I become somewhat annoyed by all the bright swirling things around me. Silly for me to react this way, really. After all, there are people who pay good money for drugs or psychic training just to see what I get for free.

How did this happen?
