Grr. Argh.

I am tired. I've needed more sleep than I've been getting for quite a while. And I was all ready to go get some sleep, when I just had to check my e-mail one more time...

I must work on getting to the point where one ignorant comment won't make me this furious. Okay, two ignorant comments, but from someone I should be used to hearing and seeing ignorant comments from by now.

Anger leading to more sleep-deprivation leading to an inability to deal well with the next irritation leading to more sleep-deprivation.

Gotta break this cycle, and soon.

Because as much as I like some kinds of crazy people, being an out-of-control raving lunatic is not one of my goals in life.

[Do I even have to say that the e-mail was not from anyone likely to be reading this, or do y'all realize that without my saying it?]

We all realize it without you saying it. Anyone who doesn't by now must be extremely exhausted from all that energy-draining overreaction... but as I'm not everyone (nonduality notwithstanding) I can't say for sure.

*hugs* Hope you beat this thing, and remember, ignorance and pettiness are the burdens of the people who have them. No reason for you to take on those burdens yourself.

Thanks, I'll try to keep that in mind. The silly thing about my reaction is that I'm pretty sure the comments last night weren't intended with malice; they were simply further evidence that certain people have been willing themselves to be ignorant too long. If the comments hadn't come from someone who should know better, I might not have had much reaction to them at all.

Ah well. ::hugs back::

Even the people with the biggest clues mislay those clues sometimes. It's the intention that matters, and if the intention was benevolent, that's worth something. Just say to yourself, "That was not helpful (Zephyr)," and let it end.

I love letting stuff end. It reminds me how much control I have. Someone once defined power as being able to do something nasty to somebody and then not doing it. Was that from a movie? I forget. Anyway, I've discovered it's true. If you forgive somebody, there's not a damn thing they can do about it. You win.

The paranoid voices in my head immediatley began to think back to what I might have said to offend.
But they are quiet voices.
The rest of me knew.

I know what you talk about, with getting annoyed easily, sleep depravation and everything. It goes up and down all the time.
One week it's great and I feel fine. Next week it's down again, lots of stress and tension and anger.
God, I need therapy NOW!

*huggles*

Of course, I didn't really cheer you up with this did I? *grins*
Know what? I could write something for you...depending on your tastes.
I don't know if you like to read fanfic of any kind?

I don't read fanfic very often, but I do like to read it sometimes. The only shows I really watch are Buffy and Angel, though, so that limits your fic choices a bit (unless you want to go back in time and put some characters from Deep Space Nine in as well!). I don't need fic, anyway--I appreciate the offer! You did cheer me up, even if you didn't think you were.

Hmm DS)...now you got me thinking. What kinds of fic do you read? Humour, action, erotica?
