You know what I miss the most today? Other than those bits of sanity I've lost in the last couple months, I mean? I miss having a working, battery-powered shortwave radio. At the moment I don't have any way of getting news should the power go out, and if you think I'm panicky now, well...

Maybe if I drop my nonfunctional radio on the floor a few times it'll decide to work properly again. Might be worth a try.

Erm, broadcasts over the 'net won't help me when the power goes out. Or when my connection's slow, for that matter. I'm kinda worried that nobody in this house has a battery-operated radio of any kind, actually.
