The Day So Far.

Woke up at 3 a.m. struggling to breathe because one or another of my bodily fluids was clogging my windpipe. Not fun. Must make a trip to get some decongestant (in case it's postnasal drip) and antacid (in case it's acid reflux) so it doesn't happen again. So not fun. Finally managed to get some sleep from about 6 to 10 this morning, though. (Yes, I know, I'd probably go to the doctor if I could afford to.)

When I woke up again (for some reason humming Sheila Chandra's version of "Lament of McCrimmon/Song of the Banshee"), the air was filled with falling snow which melted immediately upon contact with the warm ground. Now a few lazy snowflakes drift slowly down toward the ground, as if reluctant to admit that they were late for the party. Twigs and smaller branches on the tree just outside the window bear tiny drops of water glowing in the grey light.

I have the coolest friends! Got a care package from one this morning filled with important things like cotton balls and shampoo and peppermint tea. Oh, and cocoa mix! Mmm... my mood is much better now, thanks.

Want to write more. We'll see what comes out later.

Oh man, I've been dealing with that choking while asleep. It's scary and a pain in the ass, too. Yay for the care package!! I'm so glad to hear about it. I'd like to tread through the snow and come have some cocoa with you if that's okay. I'll bring whipped cream.

If there is one medical symptom guaranteed to get my attention every time, difficulty breathing is it. Hate it. But so glad to get the care package! And I'd be glad to have you here for cocoa.
