(no subject)

Very tired, though I think I'm getting better finally. Not "better" as in physically better, but more psychologically able to play with the cards I've been dealt. Or possibly better at retreating into denial of my situation again.

Didn't get much done this week--there were two or three days in a row when I didn't bother to leave the house, followed by two consecutive days I managed to walk 2.6 miles without collapsing or anything (today the walking was done after our seven inches of snow had melted to a more walkable five or so). Learned that these walking boots don't fit that well after all. Ouch. Not that any shoes I've owned in the last few years would have been comfortable slogging through the eerie landscape the snowplows created beside the main road (made eerier by the red glow of a setting sun) which made me feel like an intrepid explorer walking through the inhospitable terrain of an alien planet--or would have if there hadn't been cars, trucks, and buses passing by five feet away, though those can be seen as alien life forms if you adjust your perceptions properly.

There's more I wanted to write. It will have to wait till I've had some rest.

something happens and i'm head over heels. i only find out when i'm head over heels. (etc.) once an old tff fan, ever one.

i'm sorry your boots turned out to be not so great, but glad you're feeling less overwhelmed (if i've read your post right). i'll be standing by for the rest of what you had to say.

damnit, mom, I saw that entry and was hitting reply to post those lyrics....

but in a non-thread-hijacking-effort, I'm glad you're feeling less overwhelmed also (with the same caveat of correct reading, it's 5 in the morning and I haven't slept).

I have enough trouble getting a pair of shoes that satisfy my measly three criteria of 1-They Fit, 2-Not Butt Ugly, 3- Don't Immediately Fall Apart. Yes, I know I'm picky. But any thus shoes are a treasure if found.

That's way more than I meant to say. Sorry. must remember to not read LJ on sleep dep

oh yes, and for any of you potentially confused people out there, the damnit mom was indeed referring to replier #1, daisydumont. I'm pretty certain about my parentage, in this case.

I will also attempt to stop the hijack in progress

sorry about typing those lyrics before you could post. soon as i saw the Music notation, they were in my head emblazoned like burning runes. or something. anyway, i think there's no confusion, not to worry. :)

And I'm pretty certain I didn't give birth to you when I was ten years old, so for once even I wasn't confused.

Good thing I wasn't listening to "Watch Me Bleed."

My toes are fine, it's my *heels* that are killing me now. Well, I might have a tiny blister on one of my big toes, but that's something I can live with.

Walking through snow is fun! It's great exercise. The problem yesterday was that I wasn't walking through fresh snow, but walking through big lumpy snowdrifts created by snowplows.

Objectively speaking, things *aren't* looking up. I still don't know how I'm going to keep living. Heck, I don't even know how I'm going to pay my phone bill so I can keep babbling here. But for some reason I've stopped sitting around crying all day, and I'm glad of that.
