Today's Excitement

Local seasonal farmers markets are starting up again! Today I went to my favorite farmers market for the first time this year. Not many vendors there yet, which is no surprise, but I did buy a box of hicans--a cross of pecan & hickory nuts. The vendor actually gave me more nuts than I'd asked for, which I thought was either very nice or very absentminded of him (when I pointed it out, he grinned and said he was being nice). Also bought a bar of rosemary & eucalyptus soap from Michelle, maker of Mystic Water Soap. Though they had a new soap named "Snowpocalypse," I somehow managed to resist buying that one too. There were other tempting things at the market, but although the first of the month can be a time for minor splurges, I am behaving myself so I can afford another pair of shoes.

Today's nonexcitement: Feet are still deeply unhappy. One of the giant blisters popped on its own, at least, so the right foot hurts less than the left for now.

Today's probably uninteresting footnote: I'm going to try to crosspost this on DW and LJ. Let's see if this works!

*waves* Here from my network, and felt compelled coo over your userpic. And username. It just. Wolves are awesome and wolves with hummingbird wings? Must be the most awesome things ever.

I'm glad your right foot hurts a bit less; I hope both are better soon! And yay for rosemary and eucalyptus soap!

Thank you! The userpic was drawn by a friend of mine, the artist for the print comic Zephyr and Reginald: Minions for Hire. I picked the username many years ago because I was trying to come up with a name nobody else had and I loved the idea of a wolf/hummingbird cross. There have been more hummingwolves popping up online in recent years, which seems odd because I'm reasonably sure I haven't been reproducing...

I'll have to check the comic out! (I meant to mention, I especially love his little paws.)

And you know, if you haven't been reproducing, maybe it was the icon? It does seem to have a life of its own.... *eyes it*
