Caseworker Number One says...

She's found all my files, and she just called me up to let me know that yes, she found all the proper verifications which I supposedly hadn't turned in and she'll be processing my application tomorrow. She has no idea why I received a notice of denial and she says there is nothing I need to do about it.

At this point, I don't know whether to believe anything anyone from that office says or not. But at least one person there is actually working on my case now.

I've heard so many wacky stories about Social Security.

If you've made copies of everything, it might be a good idea to send copies to all 3 case workers just to be on the safe side.

But, then, that takes so much energy and who's got that to spare? It takes a healthy person to deal with all of this shite.

*warm fuzzies your way*

This isn't even for Social Security (I'm seeing a lawyer about appealing that decision later this week). No, these are local government people who were supposed to come up with a decision and provide some food stamps & stuff before Social Security made their decision. Grr.

Thanks for the warm fuzzies! ::fuzzies back atcha::

Yeah, I hope the woman wasn't just saying that to get me off her back. I'll be calling her later on if she doesn't call me first, of course... she is NOT getting off that easy this time.

yay!

i lucked out when i first filed for SSI disability, and got a sweet man assigned to my case... but snce i moved back, i have gotten re-shuffled to an unhelpful wench, to say the least.
getting simple answers is like pulling teeth.
and everything she *does* give me is delivered with lectures about what i *should* have done (which i usually *did* do, only someone had lost the record of it).

i'm glad you are getting *some* progress, however intangible.

*hugs*
keep at it. i Official Types do this on purpose hoping to weed out the weak-willed.

Thank you! I don't think the Official Types did this one on purpose--I rather suspect they're too incompetent to do that kind of scheming. Here's hoping you get re-re-shuffled to someone who's helpful.

actually, she's helping more now..

i just gave her my best "mom" voice and informed her she *would* give me the info i needed, and i could do *without* the lectures, please-and-thank-you.

"Mom" voices are *good* ;)
