Yesterday I did call up Social Services to find out what was going on with my application they've been sitting on since the beginning of November. Caseworker Number 3 wasn't in the office, so I called Caseworker Number 1 (Caseworker Number 2 is still on leave). CN1 says that it's really CN3's case now, but she promised she'd look things up for me to try to find out what was going on.

Today in the mail I got a notice of denial. It states that I haven't handed in all the written notifications I was supposed to--all the ones which I did in fact give them by November 18, which I've got receipts for and receipts for the receipts. There's also something in there about my assets being approximately 5,700 more than they actually are. CN3 couldn't have mailed this since she wasn't there yesterday; CN2 couldn't have mailed it since she hasn't been there in ages; CN1 tells me now that she didn't mail it. Where the Hell that number came from, I don't know. How I could be denied on the basis of not turning things in when I've spent the last two months patiently jumping through all their hoops, I don't know.

Well there's a sigh of relief coming from me now--see latest post. Though heads should roll anyway for putting me (and others, I'm sure!) through this stuff. Grr.

This is really sucky. Stupid bureaucracy. Yes, teeth gnashing from this quarter also.

I've been gnashing my teeth since I was 12, and where has that gotten me? You'd think I'd be expert at teeth-gnashing by now, but noooo, new reasons for it always come as a surprise.

But anyway, my anguished phone calls today got someone working on my case--see new post. Maybe I don't have to go in and rip anybody's lungs out to get something done after all.
