random Buffy thoughts

Random questions from the new episode, "Never Leave Me."

Where is Giles? (No, Pengy, I don't want to be spoiled. I want a new episode. Now!)

I don't believe for a minute that Jonathan was inadequate just because he was short and anemic. If the First had thought Jonathan's blood would do the trick, why didn't Jonathan get those nifty runes carved into him? (And I do hope someone gets screencaps of those runes so I can find out what they mean.) My thought: The First needed to use the blood of a murderer. Its original plan was to turn Andrew into enough of a murderer to be useful; but when that didn't work, William the Bloody made a most excellent substitute.

And if The First can't manifest itself corporeally, what was in the room with Dawn and "Joyce" in "Conversations with Dead People" that trashed the house so thoroughly?

Too many glitches in the showing of the episode. Completely missed Quentin saying "We must find Rupert Giles," though I'm told he did in fact say it.

I haven't perused the spoilers cause I don't want things to be spoiled so I don't know, maybe the answers are already out there, but I suppose that it isn't just "the first" that is going on here. I can't imagine that it was the first that was noncorporeal, cause the non-corporeal apparition was standing there when the first got his tired ass out of the ground. Was it the first that blew up the building in England? Nah. I think a general theme on a lot of shows of this type lately is that the shit is hitting the fan from all angles. The big bad beasties are just ALL diggin themselves up.

But the non-corporeal apparition was The First. It's been using the same M.O. all season that the First Evil used back in the Buffy episode "Amends" (a.k.a. The "Magic Snow" episode). The things it needs done physically, it gets its Harbingers (the black-robed guys with runes where their eyes should be) to do its dirty work, or it messes with people's heads until they do what it wants them to do. Don't know what the vampire coming up out of the ground was, exactly, but it's not The First being referred to in the show.

And for all we know so far, the Watchers blew themselves up. They may have lots of occult knowledge, but they're not always the most rational bunch.

i think it was their hot air exploding.

and i didn't see any fake snow episode. and i figured the first they were talkingabout was the first vampire.
