::whimper::

There are several tests the temp agency wanted me to take online. Unfortunately, all the tests require a connection speed of at least 33,600 bps, and my recent connection speeds have been well below that. I've been trying to take these tests for the last month and have been completely unable to do so. But tonight, I finally reconnected at a decent speed and thought, hey, it's half an hour 'til next month (when all the passwords change), I can at least take the typing test.

Wrong. I'm supposed to have a printed sheet before me so I'll know what to type. Nobody gave me a printed sheet. So it looks like I'll be unable to take any of the tests this month.

Between this whole testing fiasco and the fact that I haven't been able to keep a single appointment with the person at the temp agency with whom I most need to meet, I'm getting more than a little frustrated. No, wait, I passed frustrated somewhere about three weeks ago.

Of course I could probably get to an appointment with the woman this week--I don't seem to be fluish at all, I know where my Social Security card is, and I don't know of anything else that could stop me... aside from the fact that I don't have enough money to ride the subway at the moment. Am currently waiting to get some money the former housemates owed me, but not sure the landlord will give it to me out of their security deposits because I owe him so much more. Yet if he doesn't give it to me, the electric bill won't get paid.

In other news, I'm trying to become more cheerful and optimistic. Maybe I should just give it up and go to bed... for about the next ten years.

listen, if you can get that sheet of material to type, i'll be glad to come get you and let you use my cable modem connection to do the test. you would see housekeeping worse than you can imagine, but never mind that.

i'm sorry about all these worries for you. i add my hugs to the others'.

housekeeping worse than you can imagine

heh.

you should see MY place. it's as bad as a bachelor's place. except with matching furniture and real art on the walls in place of booby beer posters... *heh* (oh, and shoes... lots of strewn shoes... ;) )

we must be long lost twins or somethin!! :)

(i draw the line at the bachelor analogy when it comes to sporting a goatee ala evil cartman... *hee*)

well, maybe long-lost cousins. i have terrible feet and very few shoes because i hate shoe shopping. the housekeeping, tho', is for real. lack thereof, rather. and now that we have this long-haired cat, there's cat hair collecting everywhere. two days ago my husband cleaned out the woven basket from my kitchen counter, the catch-all one, y'know? i had warned him, but he just dumped everything out onto the rug. my older son and i now are coughing and sneezing and swollen up inside our noses. i have a talent for growing mold, it seems. :D

aww, your poor feetsies!!! have you tried danskos? they cost $100, but they are FANTASTIC!! i can wear them walking around nyc non-stop for 3 days and not get blisters or have my back hurt!!! they're incredible!!! (mine are red - my dorothy shoes!! weeee!) of course there's always birks...ahhh... tho i guess if you have flat feet those might not be comfy?

well, when it comes to shoes, let's just say i can understand sex and the city's carrie's fetish... not that i will ever own a pair of manolo's... my wallet runs more to the rack room $20 pairs... *hee* (well, i DID splurge on a pair of suede steve maddens.. my god, his shoes are sexy!! but who the heck can wear 4" platforms for more than 5 minutes?! *eep*)

but i digress... ;)

well, here's wishing you happy feet! ;)

kitty!!! i have 2 :) both short-hair tho... having been around long-hairs tho, i still think your 1 kitty spawns more hair fluff balls than my 2 kitties...

oh and on the bright side, for some reason i suddenly remembered this article i saw... that someone did some official scientific study, yada yada, and found that inner-city kids had less allergies and asthma than surburb kids... they hypothesized that b/c they were surrounded to many more molds (see? it IS related!! ;) ), that they built up resistance to them... (i'll avoid commenting on the blatant stereotyping...)

mold! kitties! shoes!!
ah, my work is done here!

And then there's my place--a small room which I share with a great deal of clutter and several dust bunnies of advanced age. But I'm more like DaisyVicki in that I loathe shoe shopping.

Oh, and I'm not making any comments about goatees, much as I might like to. ;-)
