Sometimes it's the little things.

Found out last night that one of the housemates (the one in the room next to me, which is the most important from my perspective) who was going to move out is actually staying. Hooray! It's so good to know that there will continue to be a clean, quiet, and helpful person in that room.

Was a bit irritated with myself today as I had planned to go to the school to prepare myself to do something I had planned for tomorrow, yet a nagging little voice told me to stick around my room until at least 5 p.m.--and stay offline all day while I was at it. I hate being unproductive and so wanted to tell the little voice where it could stick it; then remembered how self-annoyed I was last weekend for ignoring a hunch and tried to calm myself down, spending the day relaxing & reading in bed. At a little past 4:50, I got a rather important phone call, and thanks to my almost-relaxing day, it was actually a pleasant conversation. Also learned that what I'd planned for tomorrow will be impossible to do until at least Sunday, so I can spend tomorrow preparing instead. Yes, the Hummingwolf can listen to her intuition once in a while. Glad to know I'm not a lost cause yet.

After 5, got online and checked the e-mail, & saw that there was one from one of my brothers. I've been guilty recently of forgetting that my brothers are in fact two different people, but it hit me a couple days ago what this particular brother's problem relating to me might be. I felt a bit more forgiving of him, even though his way of dealing with the problem has been pathetically wrong-headed, because I could see that he hasn't been acting out of malice after all. This message he sent today was ill-informed and potentially irritating; yet I managed to answer, not just pollitely, but kindly. Yay me! Of course I'll be wanting to throttle him again in the near future, but that's life.

Last but not least of the nice things going on: the weather. Cool, rainy, low-pollution days, how I have missed thee. The cicadas don't like the weather so much--one bug-eyed beauty was seen crawling so slowly on the back door that at first I took her (him?) for dead. Crickets seem to be happy enough, though.

that all sounds good! i mean, the brother is irritating but not malicious -- it could be lots worse, no? i love this weather, the cool, mmmmm. doesn't feel like end-of-august, does it?

i hope you have a good weekend!

Yeah, he's not malicious, but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of what he's done seems calculated to screw up my life. Eh, maybe I'll deal with it better now that I think I see where he's coming from.

It's very strange--it actually was necessary to dig my afghan out of storage in order to get warm enough to sleep! Okay, maybe the windows should've been closed overnight, but I refuse to do such a thing.

Have a great weekend yourself, Ms. Daisy!

glad that you listened to your intuition.

I'm still worried about how I'll pay for things like food, but things could be worse so I'm content for now.

Glad to hear things are going well for you!
