Piddling little update

Just got off the phone with yet another person trying to help me find a job paying something better than Monopoly money. Y'know, maybe it's the heat giving me delusions of hope, but I think this effort will actually succeed before I completely run out of money and starve to death. I find myself fairly bursting with unaccustomed optimism. It's very strange.

Heat frying my brain. Today's high in the Washington, DC area is expected to be 100 degrees Fahrenheit (those of you in Celsius-producing regions of the world may translate that as "Too Darn Hot"), with hellacious humidity and smog-filled air (which the authorities strongly urge us to avoid breathing). Will be going to a nice air-conditioned library as soon as I can manage it, so have a marvelous day, everyone!

I love reading in the library - but I stop too much to people watch. I want to know everything about the people around me. Or I want to make up stories about them. Keeping my fingers crossed on this new lead for work. A

When the weather is good, I prefer reading at home in my bed with windows open. Since I go to the library for the air-conditioning, people-watching isn't a problem, though I try not to stare too obviously. :-)

best of luck with this new job search! but MAN is it hot out there. i'm just back from CP and UMd. yeccch. i had to park in that plaza where the WaWa is, waiting for my son's class to end, so i shopped in Vertigo Books, which always has great stuff to pick up and look at. got home frazzled. hope you've kept cool in the library!

Yes, it's hot. I wanted to do something with my brain today, but it melted and flowed out of my ears leaving naught but a headache behind. I hope *you* manage to stay cool this week!

You know, people do yoga for years and years so as to achieve the mental state you are describing (erm, but without the headache)

Isn't it amazing how people are never satisfied with the mental state they've already got?

(No-Mind is overrated. Well, maybe not, but it doesn't help much when you need to find a way to pay the bills...)

(I always thought mindfulness sounded more fun than no-mind anyway. But then I have been accused of thinking too much. :-))
