Looking through a women's magazine, I see an advertisement for a diet pill, one of those miracle drugs that melts fat away effortlessly with no risks at all yet somehow hasn't yet made it into the medical journals (no doubt due to some massive conspiracy of the Medical-Industrial Complex).
It doesn't matter that the Before-During-After photos are obviously doctored. It doesn't matter that my weight is at the low end of the healthy range for a woman my height. It doesn't matter that despite chronic disabling pain and fatigue, I am considerably more physically fit than the average American.
No, what matters is that I have the body of a "During" and not an "After". Somebody out there thinks I'm fat.
I don't know who created this ad, but I hate them and the industry that spawned them all the same.
