Randomness
Many thanks to two of my very favorite people,
xforge and
penguinboi, for sending a monitor my way. You guys are sweeties! Am still trying to adjust the settings so it's easier to focus on--and am not at all sure which monitor drivers should be used here--but, given that the monitor you sent isn't blinking, buzzing, hissing, crackling, or causing my surge protector to shut everything down in distress, it's a definite improvement. Thanks again!
Unfortunately, not everything in life can go so well. Not only did I make it through another week without any progress towards getting a real, paying job, but my left walking shoe came apart last night. Now I have to clomp around in old hiking boots which never fit properly until I can find some way to get new athletic shoes. Argh. Since the vocational rehab counselor is s'posed to take me dress-shoe shopping again, maybe I can get him to use the agency credit card to pay for walking shoes too. After all, they can't make me into a taxpayer if I can't even get to the subway station, can they? No, not unless they expect me to start taking the taxi--which I would then have to ask them to pay for. Some nice new Nikes would be cheaper in the long run.
I wish these people who are supposedly trying to help me get a job would talk to each other. This week they were each waiting to hear from the others and I apparently was the only one with powerful enough magic telephonic abilities to get through to two of them. Since I'd like to have an income before my money runs out (which will be in a few weeks unless I get some cash from an unexpected source), this is more than a little frustrating.
For those wondering how many thousands of dollars in taxpayer money have been spent in the so-far unsuccessful effort to turn me into a taxpayer myself: You really don't want to know.
On another topic, did anybody else notice this? As I said last night to
daisydumont,
the_pope is not on
god_dot_com's friends list. Sad, really.
But then
anoisblue pointed out that
jesus is a friend of
mrbutterpants.

It's been a while since I read the bible, but I seem to remember that Mr. Butterpants first appeared in Luke, and then later in Second Corinthians.
