I know better than to let what other people think affect my emotional state so much. I really do know better.

But I admit that when my recent health-related downhill slide is considered unimportant while the brother's car-related problems are apparently reason for a national day of mourning, it upsets me. Doesn't upset me as much as the health problems, but it still upsets me.

Oh, I know that that's a big part of what they're doing. I've known that for years. Which is why I said in the post that I should know better than to let it upset me so much--I really, really should.
