yeah, as soon as i saw an announcement of this, i went over to start feeding google letters and noticed that the results tended to be brand names and such. i do not like it, sam i am.

So far the new Google Instant isn't showing up for me. And though I am curious about it, I would prefer to keep the old version. (The GI (ha!) announcement page says it will automatically be turned off for slower connections, so I guess I'll find out how well their connection speed detection works.)

Fandom is a major presence on LJ or Dreamwidth, but among all Google searchers, I bet there are still many who have never even heard of fandom. And while "Facebook privacy fail" is important, evidence suggests many people don't actually care...
