Oh dear. I clicked the "Stages of Grief" link before I had actually read the sentence it went with, and so didn't realize it was written by someone else. I proceeded to spend some minutes reading what I thought was happening to you at the moment. Knowing that you rarely complain, I thought you must be at death's door and that the benefits you'd worked so hard to get had fallen through. Then I saw your comment "Can I link to this?" and wondered, "Why is she asking herself if she can link to her own post"? Which was when I realized it was someone else. I am a little slow this morning...

Heh. Given how much of her post I do identify with, I can understand the confusion! Am not at death's door, but am rather upset by an infection that's just not going away. My benefits are still with me (something I'm grateful for every time I have to write a rent check or I go to the pharmacy and see the cash value of even the generic versions of my medications), though Social Security could decide to do a review at any time.

I like last.fm, and the way it uses voluntary data mining to permit a community of musical listeners to unite. I am puzzled by "The Consumerist", as I believe this is the second wild goose chase it has pursued in the last month.

I don't have a problem with last.fm, but I also don't have a problem with people pointing out possible privacy implications of last.fm. Different people have different comfort levels when it comes to what they're willing to let strangers know about them.
