Weekend: Generally uninteresting due to lack of energy. Went to the library & grocery store on Saturday, but that was about all I was good for all day. Overnight I slept badly, so did very little Sunday morning or early afternoon. Walked at least tuna half miles in the evening, though, getting to see the lovely clouds at sunset.

Today was one of those days where you twist your ankle on your way to the doctor's office, but both that and your original complaint are mostly ignored because you made the mistake of mentioning a new symptom while a med student was in the room and now you have to wait in the office for your test results when you're really very hungry and want lunch now, thanks. And of course the test results are inconclusive anyway, so samples of your bodily fluids are being sent off to another lab and you should hear about those results by Thursday, okay?

At least I did get the referrals I needed, which was the main reason I went in today. My doctor was out of the office and her schedule was too full for me to see her before the neurologist appointment next week, so I got to see a different doctor at the same clinic along with his two earnest assistants. The new doctor was pleasant enough and looked like the sort of person who'd work at an organic food co-op if he hadn't gone to med school instead. The PA I saw the most was very thorough with her questions, fairly good at listening (better than most doctors, but she still made one big mistake when telling the doctor about my family history), and seemingly eager to learn. They were all very nice people; I just wish they had let me go for lunch before suppertime.

Anyway, after all that, I went out and bought a roast beef sandwich and chocolate chip cookie (and there was much rejoicing). After that, it was time to wander to a neighborhood bookstore, where I enjoyed the perceptive bathroom graffiti ("HOUSE + WILSON 4EVER") and used up a coupon. Then I went grocery shopping where in nearly every aisle I managed to bump into somebody, knock something over, or spill a sample of something onto the floor. Finally managing to get some apples, tea, and bread, I limped my way home and onto the internet. Hi there.

it's a bad day for feet. after dinner, i suddenly felt like a needle had been shoved into the underside of my left foot, at the base of the toe. the bones don't feel right in there. so sorry about your ankle! hope it's better by tomorrow.

Ow, poor foot! I hope you feel better by tomorrow. My ankle should be okay in a few days as long as I have sense enough not to overuse it. Of course there was a lot of walking after I twisted it, so it may be too late to be sensible!

Sounds like progress on the medical front.

Mmm, roast beef. I had a roast beef sandwich for breakfast this morning.

I'm not sure if it's actually progress yet. But since getting a proper (or at least believable) diagnosis for my bigger problems back in summer 2007, I've felt more comfortable bringing my lesser issues to the attention of the M.D.s. At least they're listening!
