Happy Thing--Christmas Day

Continuing the Happiness Meme, I have to admit that December 25 began badly. I woke up with the combination of a migraine and what felt like leftover side effects from the headache medication of the night before. Did laundry (a cold water wash) once I was coordinated enough to do so without bumping into too many walls, ate breakfast and then went to take a hot shower to try to ease the tense muscles in my back and neck. The shower felt great for a couple of minutes... and then someone else in the house started using the hot water to do their laundry. Not helpful for the muscles.

At this point, I did the sensible thing and went back to bed.

After a nap, though, things improved and I got myself out of the house and into the Metro station so I could go to [livejournal.com profile] stardansr and [livejournal.com profile] hasufin's Christmasy-type thing. A group of us hung out together, eating good and fattening food, giving cats the attention they so richly deserve, engaging in some rather entertaining conversation, and subjecting each other to videos (I may have been the one to play Weird Al Yankovic's "Christmas at Ground Zero" for everyone, but [livejournal.com profile] jarandhel Rickrolled us all) and ridiculous websites (David Bowie's, erm, area). The Yule celebration was a very happy thing indeed. Thank you to everyone who was there for making the day a joyful one!

I'm glad your Christmas ended up being a joyful one. Eating fattening foods and being silly is a great way to spend the day.

Argh! Migraines do that to me too.

My day was mostly nice. I ended it with a migraine but went to bed early and woke up this morning feeling okay-fine.

Yes indeed!

Sorry to hear about the migraine, but I'm glad things went well otherwise. Happy Second Day of Christmas!
