For the Record
Given the choice between high temperatures of 39 degrees Fahrenheit and 39 degrees Celsius, I will pick 39° F every time. Unfortunately, the weather tends not to give us a choice.
You know it's hot when touching a metal door handle will burn your hand--inside your own home.
I might have had something interesting to say before my brain melted away. It's hard to remember now. But I did get a couple of useful things done even during yesterday's heat--talked with someone at my bank to switch to different kinds of accounts & set up some of the free benefits they have, and made a phone call which went rather better than I'd feared. Today was meant to be spent at the library avoiding the record-breaking heat, but later in the evening it proved necessary for a small group of people to take responsibility for something we shouldn't have had to be responsible for and which will require me to try to speak coherently earlier tomorrow morning than I had hoped would be necessary. Oh well, sometimes it's a pain being an adult.
(Please note that none of the stuff vaguely referred to in the preceding paragraph has anything to do with anyone on my flist. It's all offline stuff.)
Anyway, it's hot, I'm tired, I'm probably not going to be able to sleep for more than a few hours tonight, and did I mention that it's hot? May tomorrow be a significantly cooler day..

Whoa, that's just way too hot.

Well, the door handles haven't been as hot inside as they would be if they were out in the sun. But yesterday they were noticeably very, very warm, even though it was still cooler inside the house than it was outside.
Any cool breezes you can send us will be much appreciated! We had a bit of wind earlier today which actually helped for a while. Could be worse. Could be yesterday all over again!
