(no subject)

Sometimes you'll see a tasteful snowfall, the kind that lends a touch of elegance to everything it falls upon. Today's snowfall was more like what you'd expect if you gave trowels to a group of overenthusiastic six-year-old giants and told them to cover everything with white stuff. Trees burdened with sloppy clumps of wet snow bent over each other, wondering when the kids would come back and hoping they'd show more restraint next time. Last night one of the local trees leaned on wires and sparked, prompting neighbors to call the fire department. An overloaded transformer buzzed and flared in protest, but on our street there was only one brief flicker of the lights, for which I am grateful.

While I was walking, big, fluffy flakes fell from big, puffy clouds and the sun played hide-and-go-seek with the birds. With temperatures going above freezing, a lot of the snow was melting as more snow was falling. Roads and most of the sidewalks were clear. Area schools are closed tomorrow. As much as I love snow and normally approve of snow days, I am seriously hoping that nothing keeps me from going to that dentist appointment tomorrow.

Status report: For the third day in a row I have had no noticeable bleeding. Woohoo! Still have swelling and pain, though it's less uncomfortable now than it has been. I've been very tired this weekend, which may be because of the painkiller, because my body's fighting an infection, or because panicking all week used up more energy than I had to spare. Hopefully that nice bag of imitation crab meat I bought today will help me to get through whatever the new week is bringing. Imitation crab meat + avocado + plain yogurt = love.

I'm so glad the antibiotics are helping. Sounds like you'll make it until the dentist appointment on Monday. Thank goodness.

Mmmmmm... avocado. I had some for dinner tonight and it was gorgeous. I'll soon chirp about it in my LJ. :)

I'm glad you're feeling some better.

Well, here's hoping I make it till tomorrow--and that the dentist will be seeing me tomorrow! I'm really getting tired of all these delays. My last dose of penicillin is tomorrow morning, so I do need to do something quickly.

In the meantime, I think I'll buy another avocado today. :-)

Me too, Lisa. Me too.

Fingers are crossed over here that you're seen by the dentist today ASAP.

I've never seen snow. :-(

Well I'm glad your mouth is doing a little better. It sounds like your gums were/are infected if the antibiotic is helping. I hope you get to see the dentist soon!

Imitation crab meat? Eeeew! :-P

I should be getting to the dentist tomorrow afternoon--there shouldn't be any snowy weather between now and then! Let's hope nothing else gets in my way, 'cos I am really sick of dealing with this mouth pain.

Fake crab is tasty! Or at least it is a nice change of pace from yogurt.

I like the dry snow. Big, fluffy flakes of dry snow. And I like snow that disappears in a day or two.
Once in a while we'll get thick, wet snow followed by a quick, really cold, freeze. Tree branches snapping all over the place. Ugh.
I hope you made it to the dentist today.

::hugs::

We got a thick, wet snow followed by temperatures above freezing. There's still plenty of snow around on the grassy areas, but the streets are fine and the neighborhood snowmen are sickly.
