Today's featured salad

Although someone got me craving baby spinach leaves a couple days ago, I've got a pretty strong resistance to paying $11.98 per pound for a bunch of leaves. No baby spinaches for the hummingwolf. What I do have tonight is:
romaine lettuce
red grapes
half a peach, chopped
bleu cheese
walnuts
apple cider vinegar
olive oil

Something about this combination hits the spot tonight. My taste buds can't remember my death, but they're sure we're all in heaven now.

I'm tired, in pain, stressed out, with an assortment of worrisome symtoms and no money--but guys, tonight I've got a really good salad.

I am sorry to hear about the transportation problem you're having in getting to the doctor. The tests sound really important. Could a friend drive you there? If not, many towns have local nonprofit orgs which support disabled persons. Perhaps they have a resource where someone could give you a ride to the doctor. Churches sometimes have a committee which offers this type of service to their members or even the larger community. I sure hope that someone can take you.

I don't know who could drive me there on a morning when I'm fasting. I have to eat pretty early if I'm out doing things or passing out becomes too likely.

There should be a way for me to get to a doctor appointment, if I can figure out how to manage it. But for things like going to get my blood drawn, or picking up forms I need if I'm going to keep medical benefits after this month, it seems I need to get there on my own.

Does it help you to carry a little snack? I get funny in the morning if I don't eat (although fortunately I don't usually have anything as severe as fainting) and usually carry some food with me just in case. I know that depending on the type of blood work it would have to be fasting but the food is insurance in case you'd feel faint.

Perhaps the doctor's office could draw your blood right away first thing so you can eat your snack immediately afterwards and then be ok for your appointment. I don't know if these suggestions will help but thought it's worth a try.
