One-Card Draw

Over in [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar's journal, the May One-Card Draw is going on right now!
1. Cards are drawn from now (10 AM-ish) to 1 PM, EST US time. This deadline is firm, or I will turn into exhausted spotted rags.

2. Anyone can ask for a card, Friend, friend, stranger or unfriend. No matter who you are, I will shuffle the deck with a honest prayer to the Universe to give you what you need. If you think you're on my bad side but still want a card, ask. I will do my best by you--I promise.

3. You may repost your results anywhere you like as long as you point back here so that people reading can get a card of their own. If you wish to help me promote the cards, you can also link to balancecards.org, but it's not necessary.

4. When you talk about the cards, remember to call them by their proper Name: they are Balance Cards, not Tarot, not Psycards, not I Ching cards, not runes or anything else. Names are important!

At any rate, my card has already been drawn. Here is what [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar said:

"The Universe asks you to think in the long term today, and to ponder the image of the Forest, the symbol of gradual rebirth. All that decays in the forest falls to the earth to become fodder for new growth... all that dies ends up doing so to a purpose it didn't anticipate.

"Your life is also a Forest, with things dying that will later help give birth to new things. Let this notion bring you peace."

And for mine own reference, the card from January:
Welcome, hummingwolf! Here, lie down next to me in the grass and look up at the blue, blue sky. It's spring, or at least it will be soon, and around us the flowers are nodding their heads in the fragrant breeze.

This is the Meadow... a place where things grow. Sometimes they're things you need. Sometimes they're things you don't. You can't force it. And why would you want to? If you only grew what you wanted to grow, you'd never get any of the unexpected gifts of the Universe. How would you find out that you really like strawberries if you only ever grew oranges?

Pick what you need. Leave what you don't. Be content that it's not exactly what you want... it is enough. I think. Aren't the flowers beautiful? :)

Yay, I think I actually made it in time today! (eastern time, huh? Just snuck in under the deadline!)
