It's Spring. I just saw my first butterfly of the season.

We get butterflies in spurts on warm days even in Winter, but I love to see the first swallowtail of the year, which is probably our equivalent to a declaration of Spring here!

Wow! Somebody at the UU church claimed seeing daffodils. I've heard of a few crocus sightings. I have seen nothing yet. I'll have to live vicariously through you more sharp-eyed folks.

Crocuses have been blooming here for a while now, but I tend to think of those as late-winter flowers. They are very pretty and cheerful-looking, though. Today was also the first day I saw a daffodil with its flowers open!

I'm a fan of ladybugs, fireflies, and the occasional shiny beetle. Also preying mantises, but that's because I'm odd.
