So
One of the ways that leads to madness was tempting me earlier because it seemed to provide a short-term solution to something, although I knew it would cause problems in the long term. But, you know, I'm so very stressed right now that even a brief respite seemed like it might be worth the later aggravation.
After finding out a bit more, though, I perceived that a promenade down that particular primrose path to [is there a synonym for "madness" that begins with P?] preposterousness [not quite what I had in mind] wouldn't even do me any short-term good anyway.
I've got the same stresses this evening that I had when I woke up this morning, but at least the temptation to do that one foolish thing is gone for now.
In other, possibly related news: When you're subject to big drops in blood pressure while standing still, it really isn't a good idea during a nice long walk to suddenly stop stock-still when an epiphany strikes. Little epiphanies are all good, but body brown-outs aren't of any real benefit to anyone.
(None of the little epiphanies from my walk are going to help me improve my living situation or my health any time soon, but at least the memory of them should keep me from making certain stupid mistakes I might otherwise make.)
